Workforce and Career Development (WFCD) specializes in assessing and addressing barriers of individuals to increase their employability opportunities. We serve unemployed and underemployed individuals seeking a career change and those previously or currently justice-involved. This program helps strengthen the economic well-being of Oklahoma County’s African American families and other minority families living in poverty by increasing sustainable employment opportunities that will lead to self-sufficiency and less dependence on government subsidies. We provide access to industry-recognized certification, work readiness training, and connections with employers, emphasizing high-demand occupations. WFCD provides services through two specialized initiatives, the After Prison Work Initiative (APWI) and the Young Adult Reentry Program (UYRP).
